This article stemmed from a fierce debate in the OpenPlay office so to resolve the forthcoming civil war we did some research and have it written for the record. This is mainly to stop us from squabbling but also to help anyone in a pub quiz or who just wants to show off their knowledge...because they can:



How Many Football Team Names Are There?



The simple answer is that there are 26 different endings in the English professional leagues and the Conference.



There isn't really much else to it:
