OPENPLAY POWERS DUBAI FITNESS CHALLENGE

OpenPlay has been appointed as a partner of the 2019 Dubai Fitness Challenge, the world’s only citywide fitness movement.

Launched in 2017 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the festival challenges everyone in the city to complete 30 minutes of activity a day for 30 days, as part of its mission to transform Dubai into the most active city in the world.

During this month-long challenge the city’s partners, fitness industry and iconic brands come together to deliver an unprecedented range of accessible fitness and wellness activities, as  the city is transformed into a gym from 18 October to 16 November 2019. 

OpenPlay’s powerful technology will underpin the online booking facility for courts and activity spaces that form part of Dubai Fitness Challenge. This includes the two dedicated Fitness Villages at Kite Beach and Festival City Mall, along with ten fitness hubs in popular community locations across the city

With the aim to enable everyone to take part, regardless of age, ability or fitness level, the festival will also feature flagship events such as an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class on October 26 with “The Body Coach”, best-selling author and Instagram fitness star Joe Wicks.  

This appointment to support Dubai Fitness Challenge grows OpenPlay’s presence in the Middle East, where it also supports organisations including Dubai Sportsworld.
