Kingston upon Thames is in the South of London, situated just east of the meandering Thames and just North of the start of Surrey. Historically it was an ancient market town where Saxon Kings came to be crowned.
I’m not saying it’s lost any of its heritage but it’s now the home of Chessington World of Adventures. Originally a zoo that is now home to over 1000 animals and a sea life centre. In 1984 someone had the idea of turning it into a theme park that has progressed into one of the most popular attractions in South England.
One sight to earmark in Kingston is a sculpture of twelve red telephone boxes tipped onto their side and leaning against each other, thus creating a domino effect. The artist David March has really alluded to the undefinable nature of modern art.
