Area guide: South London

South London, prounced 'Sarf London', overs famous areas including Brixton, Peckham, Wimbledon, Croydon, New Cross to Crystal Palace. It's hard one to define geographically, but many famous people have hailed from various parts of South London including Kate Moss (Croydon), Naomi Campbell (Streatham), Sam Parton the OpenPlay co-founder (also Streatham) and Rio Ferdinand (Peckham). Over the last few years it has seen enormous gentrification, particularly in places such as Brixton and Peckham, notorious gangster hangouts which are fast becoming full of wannabe hipsters drinking double mochachinos.
